UPDATE - Volunteer hours available for participants!

This August 2014, HumaniTEAM will be accepting High School students between Grade 9 and 12 for a week of inspiring programming.

Each day will provide an opportunity for youth to build their capabilities as global citizens. Starting from unearthing forgotten history, connections will be made to social justice issues today through film, guest speakers, testimony, games, drama and art. 

Participants will become friends with like-minded peers, meet community leaders, and be mentored by passionate young professionals. With a focus on practical skill building, youth will learn about the past, connect it to the present, and make an action plan for the future. 

Topics include: Exploring Social Justice, Challenging Prejudice and Discrimination, Upholding Human Rights, Moving towards Peace and Reconciliation, and Discovering Global Citizenship.

Guest speakers include: Amnesty International, Harmony Movement, Canadian Red Cross, Branch Out Theatre

Date: August 11th to 15th

Time: 10:00am - 4:00pm

Location: 80 Sheppard Avenue East, Room 117, North York, ON M2N 6E8

Cost: $100 includes all materials and snacks – bursaries available
