“Inspiring and eye-opening; I feel like I understand the importance of remembering the past now.”(Youth participant)
This August 2013, HumaniTEAM will be accepting High School students between Grade 9 and 12 for a week of inspiring programming.
Each day will provide an opportunity for youth to build their capabilities as global citizens. Starting from unearthing forgotten history, connections will be made to social justice issues today through film, guest speakers, testimony, games, drama and art. Participants will become friends with like-minded peers, meet community leaders, and be mentored by passionate young professionals. With a focus on practical skill building, youth will learn about the past, connect it to the present, and make an action plan for the future.
Topics include: Exploring your Identity, Challenging Prejudice and Discrimination, Upholding Human Rights, Moving towards Peace and Reconciliation, and Discovering Global Citizenship.
Join us on a journey to discovering identity and empowering the next generation to take ownership for building a better future!
