THANK YOU FOR
YOUR SUPPORT.
“COMFORT WOMEN” MOTION IS PASSED!
Canada ALPHA (Association for Learning and Preserving the History of WWII in Asia) together with the Korean, Filipino, Indonesian communities are organizing a petition campaign to urge all Members of the Canadian government to pass Motion 291 on "Comfort Women" issue, to be raised in the House of Commons, calling on Japan and the Diet to officially and unequivocally acknowledge and apologize for the horrendous crimes the Japanese Imperial Army had committed against women during WWII, and make proper and dignified compensation to the survivors of the sex slavery system.
This is a real closure to the hurt and wound of hundreds of thousands of women who were kidnapped and coerced to become sex slaves during those war years. With a broken body and soul, their pain were beyond words. We hope and trust that through knowledge and recognition of the past wrongs, such inhumane deeds will not be happening again anywhere in the world.
If the motion passed, Canada will become the first country to lead the world to condemn Japanese government for not recognizing the war crime. If the motion passed, the world will be awaken and alarmed of this atrocity and all the other inhuman acts around the world.
One of our targeted actions is to get 50,000 signatures and to present the petition result to Ottawa. In order to get as many signatures as we can, you are asked to support by getting signatures from your friends and communities.
Please print and forward the petition form to your friends and communities in Canada, or put this link ( http://www.torontoalpha.org/petition ) on your website, Facebook and Friendster etc. We are delighted to see that communities from other ethnic groups are showing their support and joining us continuously.
Your support will definitely help show the leaders of our country that as Canadians and global citizens, we will commit ourselves in safeguarding human rights, justice and ultimate peace.
